Inclement Weather Policy for Countryside Community Church

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

Countryside Community Church follows the lead of Omaha Public Schools (OPS) in determining whether to close for inclement weather.

Daytime Events and Activities: If OPS cancels in-person classes, Countryside will also cancel in-person activities and events. This includes Countryside-sponsored and external groups’ in-person activities and events. Be aware that OPS may also dismiss early when the weather deteriorates during the day. If OPS releases classes early, Countryside will cancel in-person, daytime activities and events at that time.

Evening Events and Activities: If OPS cancels in-person events and activities, all Countryside-sponsored children and youth activities and events are also canceled for the evening. All other Countryside-sponsored activity and event cancellations will be determined by the group’s leadership and the church administrator. Activities and events sponsored by outside groups will be canceled if OPS has canceled evening activities.

Notifications: Omaha Public Schools announce class cancellations and closures by 5:30 a.m. on local TV media stations and most radio stations. Watch also for notices at www.ops.org, the Countryside website at countrysideucc.org, social posts on our Facebook and Instagram feeds and Countryside’s outgoing phone message.

Weekend Events and Activities: Countryside-sponsored, weekend activity and event cancellations will be determined by the group’s leadership and the church administrator. Cancellation of activities and events sponsored by outside groups will be determined by the church administrator and these groups will be notified Friday afternoon.

Notifications: Cancellations of in-person, weekend activities and events at Countryside will be made by Friday afternoon. Check the Countryside website at countrysideucc.org, social posts on our Facebook and Instagram feeds and Countryside’s outgoing phone message.

WEATHER-RELATED SCHOOL CANCELLATIONS FOR KINDERNOOK PRESCHOOL

Kindernook will close if Millard Public Schools, Omaha Public Schools and/or Westside Schools close due to inclement weather. The Director will send a schoolwide Brightwheel alert if Kindernook closes. Your child’s teacher may also contact you in some preplanned way. Do not hesitate to call the church office, your child’s teacher or the director at home if you have any questions as to whether classes will be held.
